Job/Department Summary:
Under general supervision incumbent performs the full range of skilled carpentry work including new construction remodeling of existing spaces and repair and maintenance work. Incumbent builds remodels and repairs various types of facilities buildings offices classrooms restrooms sheds scaffolds forms frames fences and other structures. Renovates existing spaces adding or removing windows doors and walls; installing wall covering ceilings and floors. Incumbent installs and repairs dry wall ceiling and floor tiles; constructs cabinets counters shelves benches partitions; installs and repairs modular furniture; installs and repairs door and window frames; hangs doors and installs windows. Installs signs display boards blinds fixtures (soap and paper goods dispensers etc.); repairs furnishings (tables chairs desks lab benches etc.).
Required Education and Experience:
These abilities normally would be acquired through any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through the completion of a carpenters apprenticeship program.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $64260 (Step 1) - $93612 (Step 20) per year.

Throughout employment in this position incumbent must maintain a valid California Drivers License as well as continued completion and compliance of the CSU Defensive Drivers Training course.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a Respiratory Medical Evaluation.
