Location: Leesburg VA
Contract Duration: 27 Weeks
Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
Weekly Hours: 37.5 (30-minute meal break)
Pay Rate: $35$50/hour
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1312.50$1875.00
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a Multiple Disabilities (MD) program serving middle school students. The role supports students with complex medical needs limited mobility and adaptive/self-care requirements. Fully licensed candidates are preferred; Long-Term Substitute (LTS) candidates will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals for ID/MD students
Develop implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Support students with medical needs mobility limitations and self-care skills
Provide adaptive functional and life-skills instruction
Collaborate with paraprofessionals therapists medical staff and administrators
Implement appropriate instructional and behavior management strategies
Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring records
Ensure compliance with IDEA state regulations and school policies
Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams
Maintain a safe structured and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License (preferred)
Long-Term Substitute (LTS) candidates will be considered
Experience with Multiple Disabilities (MD) or Intellectual Disabilities (ID) preferred
Experience supporting students with medical mobility and adaptive/self-care needs
Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance
Strong collaboration communication and classroom management skills
