Role Overview:
The Application Engineer is responsible for end-to-end development and support of applications including application code support server operations creating and maintaining DevOps pipelines and resolving production issues.
The role requires close collaboration with onsite application team and partners in QE infrastructure and security teams to ensure application stability performance and compliance in a regulated enterprise environment.
This role goes beyond traditional incident support and expects code-level understanding debugging unit testing awareness and active participation in migrations and modernization initiatives.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Application Operations:
Code development being a part of development team code migration functional and unit testing based on business requirements. Perform code level debugging configuration analysis and defect triage in collaboration with development teams.
Integrate code within application architecture involving development of RESTful APIs and integration testing
Participate in scrum for daily updates on application development collaboration with onsite team for resolution of issues.

DevOps & Release Management:
Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins uDeploy Git based workflows).
Assist with application deployments rollbacks and release validation across environments (Dev QA UAT Prod).
Work with infrastructure and platform teams on containerized or cloud based deployments where applicable.
Ensure deployments meet enterprise risk change and audit requirements.

Linux & Platform Operations:
Perform operational tasks on Linux systems including log analysis process monitoring scripting and configuration management.
Troubleshoot OS level issues impacting application performance or availability.
Automate routine operational tasks using shell scripting or Python.

Migration & Modernization Support:
Participate in application migrations such as platform upgrades data center moves or modernization initiatives.
Support legacy to modern transitions while ensuring minimal business disruption.
Validate application behavior post migration and assist with stabilization activities.

Risk Security & Compliance:
Follow enterprise risk management security and compliance standards.
Support vulnerability remediation access reviews and audit requests related to applications.
Ensure proper documentation of operational procedures and support runbooks.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Programming & Application Knowledge
Strong working knowledge of Python (reading debugging supporting production code).
Familiarity with REST APIs application frameworks and configuration management.
Understanding of full-stack concepts (UI backend services APIs databases).

Preferred Qualifications:
B.S or M.S in computer science or computer engineering with 6 years of experience in equivalent IT environments.
Exposure to real-time analytics and data pipelines.
