Purpose of Role

To plan and deliver engaging Science lessons aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum fostering scientific curiosity critical thinking and inquiry-based learning among middle school students.

CSA - Middle School Science Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver Science lessons for Middle School (Grades 68) as per Cambridge Lower Secondary Science framework
• Use inquiry-based and experiential learning approaches to develop scientific understanding
• Teach core concepts in Biology Chemistry and Physics appropriate to the grade level
• Integrate practical activities experiments and demonstrations into lessons

Curriculum & Assessment

• Plan lessons schemes of work and assessments aligned with Cambridge learning objectives
• Assess evaluate and record student progress using formative and summative assessment methods
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
• Maintain accurate academic records and reports

Laboratory & Classroom Management

• Ensure safe conduct of experiments and adherence to lab safety norms
• Maintain laboratory equipment materials and inventory
• Create a positive inclusive and disciplined classroom environment

Student Development

• Encourage curiosity problem-solving and independent thinking
• Support differentiated learning for diverse student needs
• Identify and nurture students interest in scientific inquiry and research

Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities

• Work closely with other Science teachers and coordinators
• Participate in curriculum planning moderation and professional development programs
• Support school activities such as science fairs exhibitions and competitions
• Stay updated with Cambridge teaching methodologies and best practices
