The Round Lake Area Park District is hiringLead Teachers for our preschool program. This is a seasonal position with up to 25 hours per week working in our two-year-old preschool classroom. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that support the social emotional and early learning needs of two-year-old children.
Schedule:
MondayFriday 8:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree with a minimum of six (6) college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education
(Applicants who do not meet the six-credit minimum in Early Childhood Education are not eligible for hire.)
Experience
- Experience working with preschool-aged children required
- Experience working with two-year-old children preferred
Essential Duties
- Plan and implement engaging age-appropriate group activities including but not limited to music art games and early literacy experiences
- Maintain a safe nurturing and structured classroom environment
- Provide consistent supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
- Communicate clearly and professionally with children parents/guardians and coworkers
- Support childrens social emotional and developmental growth through positive guidance and interaction
Certifications
- Current Child First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
