DescriptionThe Utility Porter fulfills all deep cleaning scrubbing polishing and heavy work in the Housekeeping Department. He/She can be expected to perform tasks ranging from disposal of trash and soiled linens to work requiring the use of ladders lifts and motorized carts.
Responsibilities- Vacuum all carpet and fabric surfaces according to cleaning schedules.
- Pan-sweep floors in assigned area.
- Clean and buff all marble surfaces in assigned areas when assigned to floor care.
- Sand and re-stain black marble surfaces when assigned to floor care.
- Mop all non-carpeted floors in assigned area when assigned to floor care.
- Clean all high areas including ceiling items/excluding smoke detectors when assigned to guest rooms and halls.
- Clean all low areas as needed including wall sockets pictures door stoppers exposed plumbing base boards and window sills when assigned to guest rooms and halls.
- Stock and sort linens prior to stocking lockers (only when on linen duty).
- Collect soiled linen from chutes for pick-up by linen company (only when on linen duty).
Qualifications- Work requires effective communication in English both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
- Must present a neat and professional appearance.
- Work requires flexibility to work various shifts.
- Ability to maintain regular predictable attendance according to schedule

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Fast-paced environment multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint.
- Work requires ability to lift and carry approximately 110 - 120 pounds and ability to push and/or pull approximately 300 - 400 pounds on wheels.
- Able to push pull carry or lift up to 50lbs repetitively throughout the workday.
- The physical ability to stand and/or walk continuously for duration of shift.
- The physical ability to climb stairs balance bend/stoop and kneel continuously.
- The physical ability to frequently crouch push/pull squat and work above the shoulders with both arms.
- The physical ability to use both hands for continuous grasping.
- The physical ability to push pull and lift various furniture items such as mattresses end tables chairs ottomans lamps and tables.
- The physical ability to tolerate any required personal protective equipment such as gloves safety glasses safety goggles and other protective equipment is deemed appropriate on a continuous basis.
- Ability to safely operate motorized equipment
- Attention to detail and must have visual capabilities needed to inspect work upon completion to avoid leaving deficient work.
