Position Title: Cleaning Porter
FTE/Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Location: 496 Kinderkamack Rd. Oradell NJ
Shift: M-W-F 8am 11am (Hours can be flexible between 8am and 3pm)
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Maintains the cleanliness sanitation and presentability of 3rd floor administrative and clinical spaces working primarily during business hours to handle high-traffic areas. Key responsibilities include cleaning kitchen lobby conference rooms and hallways removing trash sweeping/mopping floors cleaning spills and performing light spot-cleaning tasks like wiping surfaces and tidying common areas. Also conducts light maintenance and cleaning of outside walkways and parking areas.
Essential Functions Include:
1. Cleaning & Sanitizing: Thoroughly clean lobbies hallways tables chairs and other surfaces; sanitize high-touch surfaces like doorknobs and elevator buttons.
2. Maintenance & Tidying: Empty trash and recycling bins mop floors vacuum and dust surfaces.
3. Spill Response: Rapidly address spills and maintain safety by placing caution signs.
4. Restocking: Keep restrooms and pantries stocked with supplies (paper towels soap etc.).
5. Exterior Maintenance: Sweep entrance areas clear walkways and in some cases manage exterior litter. Use equipment to remove light snow leaves and debris from walkways and parking areas. Spread salt to prevent ice on walkways.
6. Special Projects: Assist with furniture moves set up conference rooms and perform deep cleaning tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Reliability & Detail-Oriented: Ability to maintain a clean environment consistently.
Non-Technical skills: Ability to follow task lists and detailed instructions and communicate effectively with direct supervisor and other on-site staff
Physical Stamina: Capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 30lbs) and standing/walking for long periods. Ability to perform repetitive movements related to sweeping vacuuming and mopping for long periods.
Customer Service: Friendly demeanor as they often interact with employees and visitors.
Knowledge of Chemicals: Familiarity with cleaning chemicals safety protocols and equipment (leaf/snow blowers vacuums).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
One year of janitorial experience
Show interest in career growth and mentoring of peers and interns (preferred)
Ability to get to job site for required shifts
Must pass background checks and drug testing
Must complete onboarding training
