Our client is currently seeking a qualifiedSr. Desktop Support Specialistto join their teamonsite and remotely in Charlotte NC and provide end-user support. The position will start as normal business hours - 8 am to 5 pm but will very likely move to night shift during the peak Windows 10 to Windows 11 conversions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support project for 4100 Branches 65000 desktops / tablets 200000 various peripherals
- Tier 3 production support tickets
- Answering vendor pages from techs installing or doing break/fix work
- Light AD Administration / Fulfilling QA Tester Requests
- Issue trending root cause resolution
- Conducting unit-level testing on new hardware and software updates
- Author simple to intermediate-level fix scripts
- Provide support to vendor technicians
- Analyzing workstation logs and working with the development team on issues
- Implement complex / advanced automated solutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Min 5-7 years experience in a Tier 2 / Tier 3 production support role remotely troubleshooting Windows 10 / 11-based devices (workstations laptops tablets) and/or printers/peripherals in a large networked environment.
- 3 years experience with MS Configuration Manager
- 2 years experience with MS Intune
- Min 2 years of basic Active Directory administration
- Working knowledge of remote desktop support/administration tools such as: RDP SCCM remote registry editor Sysinternals tools such as psexec / pskill / psloggedon / procmon / process explorer)
- 2 years of desktop administration engineering scripting (PowerShell Batch Files etc.)
The hourly rate for this position is between $30.75 - $45.00 per hour unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market skills education experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
