The Area Director of Clinical Operations (ADCO) is responsible for the day-to-day management of clinical operations in assigned Area/States to ensure excellent patient-centered care efficient use of clinical resources and excellent customer this role you will report to the Regional Vice President of Clinical Operations (RVPCO).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for clinical oversight and management of the following: coaching orienting and developing the clinical team in an assigned area which consists as applicable of Director of Nursing (DON) Clinical Supervisors Case Managers and field staff who treat adult and pediatric patients as applicable
Responsible for clinical oversight in their area/state to attain division goals regarding staffing Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI)/outcomes and overall quality of care
Analyzes as applicable clinical work metrics and makes recommendations for potential cost effective improvements while achieving excellent outcomes
Organizes and assumes responsibility to effectively supervise others at multiple area levels working onsite and/or remotely as applicable
Ensures that talent staff and resources are in place to meet clinical goals and objectives within budget as assigned
Oversees clinical hiring terminations and disciplinary actions. Ensures that action plans are completed and documented
Responsible for final approval of all clinical management staff positions in assigned area
Reviews/approves all area clinical productivity bonuses prior to pay out in collaboration with the RVPCO
Ensures that all necessary supplies and equipment are available in assigned area for during an emergency/disaster and/or pandemic
Responsible for disseminating educational materials to DON and/or developing some processes and materials as assigned by the RVPCO; inclusive of regulatory and payer changes
Performs/ensures performance and process improvement to include standardization of clinical processes procedures and systems as directed by the RVPCO
Works with RVPCO to identify solutions to location concerns and/or complaints within an area as assigned
Ensures that goals for orientation applicable training and competency are met in all locations within the assigned area
Expert clinical resource to assess patient and staff needs as applicable
Accountable for achieving goals as established for reimbursement quality/outcomes education and/or sales events as assigned/applicable
Audits clinical records for compliance on a regular basis. Cooperates with the QAPI audit team as applicable
Ensures that monthly/quarterly QAPI Plan is adhered to. This encompasses bench marking and outcomes quarterly PI/action plan/follow-up and clinical record reviews. Assists location DON in an assigned area with PAC Governing Body Annual Program Evaluation and annual risk assessments as requested by RVPCO and Director of Compliance and Quality. Chairs the area QAPI meetings and ensures completion of meeting minutes in all locations
Responsible to ensure correct processing documenting and resolving as applicable all complaints and occurrences in the assigned area
Attends in-services and continuing education to maintain ongoing clinical knowledge
Performs/ensures that clinical staff evaluations education staffing time-off is managed to companys directives
Ensures the parent to branch supervision is performed in the assigned area and supervision is documented according to state regulation
Collaborates with RVPCO in designing developing and delivering a variety of professional and personal development topics to the general staff as applicable
Develops/prepares communications to keep operations informed of updates achievements and problems as assigned
Ensures the assigned area location(s) are compliant with patients rights infection control and emergency preparedness
Ensures that coordination of care as performed in assigned area to meet federal state and accreditation requirements as applicable
Responsible for clinical implementation of Emergency Preparedness Plan in an assigned area and collaborates with the local DON to promote staff and patient safety
Able to be acting DON and/or Administrator if necessary
Ensures that the following information/instruction is given in writing to the patient/caregiver/ representative as applicable
Available to share on-call with nursing personnel as needed or as applicable
Facilitates implementation of company/division initiatives as assigned
Attains goals as set forth in performance evaluations
Submits documentation/meets deadlines within required timeframes
Maintains strict confidentiality of patient agency and employee matters
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate with all levels of authority
Proven leadership skills; regarded as a clinical expert resource
Excellent technological knowledge to be able to implement new clinical systems/platforms
Able to function independently and problem solve with minimal supervision
Able to work with multiple teams and the RVPCO to promote viable ethical and cost- effective solutions

Travel to assigned Area required as assigned with varying degrees of environmental conditions
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing required. Current professional licensure required
Minimum of three to five years proven progressive experience in home health care supervision/management. At least one to two year(s) of experience must have been obtained within five years prior to current employment with the home health agency
Possesses excellent knowledge of Medicare Medicaid insurance reimbursement coding processes OASIS or other required payment documents per division policies and procedures documentation and regulations on state federal and accreditation standards/level(s) as applicable
Clinical expertise in treating/overseeing medically complex adults and pediatric patients as applicable by division
