At Healthy Gamer we think modern mental health care should be inclusive and affordable. Our coaching service has helped over 13000 people across 77 countries since it launched in November 2019. Our movement is gaining traction putting us in the top 0.1% of Twitch streamers and the top 1% of YouTube channels. And were working on even more resources to help people find a way forward when they need it.
Weve made an impact in the gaming community but thats not where our mission ends. We want to change how people think about and deal with mental health and were looking for passionate people to help us get there. We are building teams of the best and the brightest in mental wellness and we are having fun doing it.
About the Role
The Front-End Developer is responsible for building intuitive performant and accessible user interfaces that bring our products to life. Youll work closely with product design and backend engineering to translate ideas and requirements into polished user-centered experiences.
This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about usability and quality enjoys collaborating across disciplines and thrives in an environment where ownership and continuous improvement are valued.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Feature Development
- Build maintain and improve user-facing features using modern front-end technologies.
- Translate product requirements and design mockups into clean scalable and reusable code.
- Collaborate with product managers designers and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features end-to-end.
- Ensure consistent implementation of design systems and UI standards across the product.
Performance Quality & Accessibility
- Optimize applications for performance responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
Write maintainable well-tested code and participate in code reviews. - Ensure accessibility best practices (WCAG) are incorporated into front-end development.
- Identify and address technical debt and front-end architecture improvements.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in sprint planning standups retrospectives and release cycles.
- Contribute to front-end best practices tooling decisions and technical standards.
- Debug and resolve front-end issues across environments.
- Stay current with evolving front-end technologies and frameworks and apply learnings where appropriate.
Who You Are
- 3 years of professional experience as a front end or full stack developer.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript HTML and CSS.
- Experience with at least one front-end framework such as React Vue or similar (Svelte preferred).
- Familiarity with responsive design component-based architecture and design systems.
- Experience working with REST APIs and integrating front-end applications with backend services.
- Comfortable collaborating with designers using tools like Figma.
- Strong attention to detail with a user-first mindset.
- Clear communicator who works well in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Experience implementing browser-side analytics with tools like Google Tag Manager or Amplitude
- Experience with at least one testing framework Rspec or Jest preferred
- Exposure to accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Experience in healthcare mental health or regulated environments.
- Experience in a startup or scaling product team.
