The Santa Clarita Community College District/College of the Canyons is seeking a short term temporaryAsian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program (AANHPI SAP) Coordinatorin the Intercultural Center. This is a grant-funded position.
Under the Dean Institutional Research Planning & Institutional Effectiveness the AANHPI SAP coordinator provides assistance with efforts to meet grant and state initiative deliverables of supporting AANHPI-identifying and other low-income underserved students toward increasing their engagement and educational goals.
Example of Duties
We are seeking individuals who can:
- Create a safe and supportive space for AANHPI and all students.
- Assist in referring students to connect with resources legal community financial and otherwise as necessary outside of the campus community.
- Assist in partnering with campus-wide resources/departments (i.e. Student Health and Wellness Center Financial Aid BaNC etc.) to provide additional support for AANHPI students.
- Engage with campus faculty staff and student organizations to utilize existing resources and increase access to opportunities.
- Collaborate with Financial Aid to ensure students are informed of financial aid resources.
- Engage with off-campus partners community organizations to bring additional resources to students.
- Assist with distribution of subsidy cards to eligible students.
- Assist with student events and workshops.
- Assist with the centers social media and marketing.
- Assist with the development of mentorship opportunities to enhance student academic and professional trajectories.
- Assist with additional educational/leadership opportunities: summer internships fellowships scholarships etc.
- Assist in students onboarding process and getting acquainted with AANHPI resources and events.
- Assist incoming college students with their college application residency forms and financial aid forms.
- Assist in outreach to college departments and outside resources to best support AANHPI students.
- Assist in mental health services outreach: Increase the visibility and awareness of mental/physical health resources available on campus.
Duties may include but not limited to:
- Answer general inquiries from walk-ins.
- Work collaboratively with the Intercultural Center staff and with other ICC-housed programs (e.g. NASSSP Bluebird Resource Program).
- Check-in students for their appointments.
- Enter data and track student walk-ins and appointments in Canyons Connects portal.
- Assist with responding to AANHPI emails and social media messages.
- Create flyers social media posts and infographics to engage students.
- Assist leadership with in-reach and outreach efforts.
- Clerical duties (schedule meetings reception desk coverage) as they are assigned.
- Travel between Valencia and Canyon Country campus spaces as assigned as needed.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the position:
- Able to set a consistent schedule with exceptions when work hours may vary depending on the weeks agenda and event programming (averaging 20 hours per week).
- Demonstrate a record of professional/courteous customer service and display comfort working with the Microsoft Office Suite electronic communication and electronic devices.

This is a temporary hourly assignment and is not part of the classified service. Fringe benefits are not included and this position is at-will and not represented by any of the Districts collective bargaining units.
Position is open until filled first review date is February 162026.
