How You Will Make an Impact
The Cook / Housekeeper enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients through the assumed responsibility for housekeeping and food preparation services in accordance with the Role Description particularly by ensuring the overall cleanliness and respectful appearance of the facility maintaining adequate supplies for housekeeping and meal preparation as well as serving healthy meals. Hospitality and availability are aided by providing an environment that is welcoming and hospitable to clients. The incumbent must also be able to demonstrate flexibility in the carrying out of her work in response to client and organizational needs and must be able to adapt to the changing needs of a diversity of clients accessing service.
- Responsible for hospitality services including cleaning and sanitization of common areas offices and program spaces as well as facility laundry
- Provide support where required to meal planning and preparation
- To serve dinner nightly to clients
- Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety regulations corporate and program policy
- Hospitality and availability are aided by providing an environment that is welcoming and dignified
- Must also be able to demonstrate flexibility in the carrying out of work in response to participant and organizational needs and must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment

What Youll Bring to Our Team
- High school diploma and previous cleaning experience
- Residential cleaning experience is preferred
- Cooking experience / cooking in a residential or commercial kitchen environment is preferable
- Applicants should possess an appreciation and understanding of a range of issues impacting individuals including abuse poverty homelessness mental health and substance use
- Food Handlers certification is an asset
