The Opportunity

Aurizn is seeking Cyber Security Practitioners across Associate to Senior levels to support and lead the delivery of cyber security assurance and accreditation activities within Australian Government and Defence environments.

These roles are suited to cyber security professionals at varying stages of their careers who are motivated by national security outcomes and comfortable operating in sensitive and complex environments. Associate-level practitioners will have the opportunity to build strong foundational experience while senior practitioners will apply their expertise to deliver high-quality credible security and assurance outcomes in support of Defence capability research and operations.

Responsibilities will vary depending on level and experience but may include:

  • Supporting and leading the analysis design execution and evaluation of security activities to meet agreed time cost and quality delivery objectives.
  • Providing technical leadership and specialist advice on security architecture control selection and risk treatment aligned with Defence security frameworks and standards.
  • Contributing to risk identification assessment and treatment activities with escalation of issues and uncertainties as appropriate.
  • Supporting accreditation assurance and risk management activities.
  • Engaging effectively with stakeholders collaborating within delivery teams and interfacing with technical authorities.
  • Contributing to team leadership mentoring and capability development as appropriate to role seniority.

What We Are Seeking

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance (Baseline clearance or above).
  • A Bachelors degree in Cyber Security Information Technology Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting cyber security assurance or risk management activities within Defence Government or similarly regulated environments.
  • Experience contributing to the development of security and accreditation artefacts.
  • Knowledge of Defence security frameworks and standards including the Information Security Manual (ISM) Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
  • Experience supporting stakeholder engagement activities.
  • A collaborative and professional approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Due to a requirement for Defence Clearance to undertake the duties of the role Australian Citizenship is required.
