About the Role

As an EHS Manager you will be responsible for ensuring our operations adhere to the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance requiring a deep understanding of federal state and local regulations as well as a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout our facility. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining our license to operate and in protecting the well-being of our employees and the surrounding this role you will report to the sites Operations Director.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage the implementation of EHSS strategies aligned with the groups overall objectives to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and manage all required reporting and
  • documentation.
  • Develop implement and maintain EHS policies procedures and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Develop and implement specific tools and initiatives to increase awareness and capability in EHS achieving EHSS objectives.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits (Gembas) of the facilities and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Lead investigations to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and sustain an adequately resourced and effective EHS function maintaining robust succession plans and enabling career development for EHSS team members.
  • Exercise authority to stop any process or activity or provide coaching when unsafe conditions or behaviors are detected that could risk worker health or environmental integrity.
  • Oversee the Process Safety Management program for highly hazardous chemicals including process hazard analyses and develop the management of change (MOC) procedures.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs ensuring proper storage handling and disposal.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training for employees at all organizational levels.
  • Track and analyze EHS performance metrics to identify trends and improve decision-making share learnings and best practices across zones and global initiatives.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelors degree in environmental science Occupational Health and Safety Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA EPA and other relevant federal state and local regulations.
  • Proven experience with Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plan regulations.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both management and hourly employees.
  • Knowledge of Mexican regulations (STPS SEMARNAT PROFEPA local authorities).
  • English 90% advanced English level (reading and writing that allow fluid presentations)

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or similar professional certification is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of international EHS regulations and standards (e.g. ISO 14001 ISO 45001).
  • Knowledge of corporate sustainability programs carbon footprint reduction or circular economy practices.
  • Ability to use tools like Power BI or advanced Excel for EHS performance dashboards and predictive analysis.
