Job Summary

OVERVIEW


The role is a key contributor within the BIA Program Reporting and Analysis team under the umbrella of the Finance department where new business ideas and partnerships are incubated and scaled. The Manager Reporting and Analysis Western Programs will focus on providing visibility and insights for recycling-related cost modelling insights development and fee setting primarily through Business Intelligence tools like Power BI Python ML and AI. This will involve the creation and management of data models the development of formal processes and the support of other tools to optimize business operations. This role will be involved in strategic projects and work closely with business stakeholders using data to identify and translate business needs and opportunities into actionable initiatives. The candidate will report directly to the Director Reporting and Analysis Western Programs.


This is a salary paid position requiring residency in Canada with occasional visits to the Toronto office.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Own end-to-end program reporting delivering accurate timely and decision-ready financial and operational insights.
  • Build maintain and enhance program cost models KPIs forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Evaluate program performance identify trends and cost drivers and provide clear recommendations to improve outcomes.

Data Analytics & Insight Generation

  • Convert complex producer supply chain and operational data into actionable insights.
  • Develop analytical models to assess program efficiency scalability and performance.
  • Proactively surface opportunities to strengthen program effectiveness and business value.

Reporting Automation & Systems

  • Lead the transition from manual reporting to automated scalable BI and analytics solutions.
  • Integrate data from ERP systems data warehouses and operational platforms.
  • Define and enforce standardized reporting frameworks metrics and data governance.

Audit Compliance & Special Initiatives

  • Lead reporting support for external audits regulatory filings and third-party requests.
  • Ensure audit-ready reporting through strong controls documentation and data integrity.
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis and insights in support of management requests and priority initiatives.

Stakeholder Partnership & Communication

  • Partner with Finance Program Operations IT and external stakeholders to align reporting with business needs.
  • Present insights and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and diverse audiences.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on program reporting and performance analysis.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead teams through reporting process and system changes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to strengthen analytics and reporting capability.
  • Champion continuous improvement and a data-driven culture across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelors degree Business or a quantitative subject (e.g. mathematics engineering science economics or finance)
  • CPA designation preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experiences may be considered.


Experience

  • 7 years of experience in progressive reporting or analytics roles
  • 3 years of experiencemanaging financial cost models andleading reporting functions
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and strong knowledge of PowerPoint for presenting results
  • Direct experience with BI & analytics tools (Python SQL Amazon RedShift or PowerBI)
  • Strong experience in finding data insights and providing recommendations to the business
  • Preferred knowledge of SAP


Knowledge/Competencies/Skills

  • Preference for experience in financial or operational reporting
  • Proven experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset that is able to handle advanced modelling exercises
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and the ability to communicate and apply AI technologies effectively within a business context.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • All CM employees work 40 hours per week remotely from a home office environment.
  • This role requires occasional work in the Toronto head office.


PAY TRANSPARENCY

ExpectedCompensation:

  • An annual base salary in the range of $90000 to $110000.
  • The salary range listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act andreflectsa potential base salary range for this salaryofferedwillbedeterminedwithin the rangeand willdependonfactors such asthecandidatesunique qualificationsrelevantexperienceworklocationand expected contributions.
