This is a pivotal executive leadership role offering significant scope to drive strategic direction and operational excellence within a major division of our clients enterprise business. Reporting directly into the Divisional CEO and partnering closely with the Group CFO you will be instrumental in scaling the finance function to meet ambitious growth targets. You will move beyond traditional reporting to become a true commercial partner leveraging deep financial acumen to influence strategic decision-making across the entire executive committee. This role demands a leader ready to modernize systems ensure rigorous governance in a listed environment and build a world-class finance team capable of supporting complex multi-entity operations.

Responsibilities:

Define and drive the divisional financial strategy ensuring tight alignment with overarching enterprise and group objectives.
Provide indispensable strategic financial counsel to the Divisional CEO and the Executive Committee actively shaping commercial and operational roadmaps.
Own the end-to-end process for budgeting forecasting long-range planning and comprehensive performance management across numerous legal entities.
Establish and maintain impeccable financial controls governance frameworks and ensure complete regulatory compliance including adherence to SOX standards.
Spearhead group and divisional financial reporting consolidation activities and timely statutory submissions.
Translate complex financial data into clear actionable business insights via advanced KPI analysis and executive dashboards.
Manage critical areas of cash flow optimization capital allocation strategy and balance sheet efficiency.
Lead the financial rigor behind potential mergers acquisitions strategic investments including due diligence and post-integration financial oversight.
Drive the modernization and automation of finance systems and processes to enhance scalability and efficiency.
Cultivate and manage high-stakes relationships with external auditors key regulators investors and banking partners.
Lead mentor and strategically develop a high-performing senior finance leadership team ensuring robust succession planning.

Requirements:

Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
10 years of progressive senior finance leadership including 35 years at CFO or equivalent executive level.
Strong background in fintech financial services payments or complex technology-led sectors.
Proven success managing finance across multi-entity multi-product and matrixed organisational structures.
Deep working knowledge of listed company governance and statutory reporting mandates.
Demonstrated experience leading financial aspects of M&A group consolidation and reporting.
Exceptional people leadership skills capable of mentoring senior teams and managing external partners.
Highly analytical commercially focused and resilient under pressure.
Experience in driving finance system transformation and automation projects.
