Qualifications:
Requires extensive knowledge of machine shop practices usually acquired through extensive on the job training and experience
Journeyman (machining) or 8 years equivalent
High degree of mechanical aptitude and print reading skills
Ability to work independently and to manage ones time effectively
Knowledge/experience with other machines (lathe mill CNC set up/programming surface grind jig grind) is not required but is beneficial
Understanding of individual contribution to the product conformity and product safety

Responsibilities:
The OD/ID Grinder is responsible for setting-up operating and tending grinding
Grinding applications will span cylindrical grinding ID grinding & specialized tool/spindle grinding
Planning and performing difficult grinding operations which require complicated setups or a high degree of accuracy
Determine proper feeds speeds tooling and operation sequence or select those prescribed in drawings blueprints or layouts using a variety of precision measuring instruments
Maintains a workable supply of perishable tools required in the operation of machinery
Assists at other machines in Manufacturing when needed
What We Need from You:
Basic computer skills
Detail oriented
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook)
Effective communication skills (oral / written)
Ability to multitask
No lifting restrictions
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
