Squirrel Hill Health Center is dedicated to providing high-quality patient-centered care to individuals of all backgrounds. We are seeking a Behavioral Health Practice Support Specialist to join our team and support our Behavioral Health and SUD Teams. This position reports to both our Squirrel Hill and Brentwood office locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to Behavioral Health/SUDTeams.
- Schedule appointments verify insurance and collects co-pays or sliding scale fees.
- Greet patients assist with check-in/check-out and coordinate follow-up appointments.
- Maintain patient records prepare packets and handle insurance authorizations.
- Call patients for appointment reminders and rescheduling.
- Attend and participate in weekly department meetings.
- Collaborate with SHHC staff to ensure quality care and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computers EHR medical terminology ICD-10 CPT coding and insurance knowledge.
- Commitment to serving low-income and underserved populations.
- Knowledge of a second language such asSpanish or Nepali is a plus.
- Must have all CDC-recommended immunizations including annual Flu vaccine
Core Competencies:
- Experience in medical office settings (behavioral health preferred).
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients.
- Respectful team collaboration and attention to detail.
