Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager at Miller Electric supports the Project Manager in coordinating electrical projects including sports lighting installations. This clientfacing role focuses on learning through handson experience whileassistingwith project planning communication and execution across a variety of electrical scopes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Assistin estimating project scope and costs
  • Manage projects with subcontractors
  • Communicate with clients and subcontractors
  • Attend and activelyparticipatein project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as requested or
  • Research and preparation of change requests to resolve design issues for approval
  • Research and recommend solutions to design document problems including conflicts interferences and errors/omissions
  • Monitor field work and/or contract work to ensure compliance with company standards procedures specifications and codes
  • Assistwith the submittal process
  • Assistin the tracking and completion of billing

Electrical Sports Lighting Responsibilities:

  • Support planning and coordination of sports lighting installation projects including stadiums athletic fields and recreational facilities
  • Assistin reviewing lighting layouts photometric designs pole layouts and fixture specifications
  • Coordinate with lighting manufacturers and suppliers to ensureaccurateprocurement of sportslighting equipment
  • Monitor installation of lighting poles fixtures controls and underground/overhead feeds to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards
  • Help manage scheduling and sequencing of lighting work to align with field conditions and project milestones
  • Support aiming testing and commissioning of sports lighting systems including lightlevel verification
  • Identifyand help resolve design or field issues related to mounting heights lighting uniformity wiring methods and control systems
  • Maintain documentation and updates for sports lighting submittals RFIs change orders and checkout packages.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • A College degree journeymans license or master electricians license
  • Understanding of electrical installations
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.

PREFERRED

  • Experience in dealing with industrial construction/contracting
  • Electrical contracting assistant project management experience
  • Electrical contracting assistant project management experience
  • Familiar with computer-based estimating
  • Knowledge of billing and collections
