As Regional Director Radio-Canada Acadie you are responsible for setting the regions strategic direction and objectives across all Radio-Canada platforms. You oversee Radio-Canadas regional stations and bureaus in New Brunswick Nova Scotia Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island.

You lead a young dynamic management team ready to take on the challenges currently facing the media industry. You play a key role in developing and implementing performance indicators tied to the regional stations positioning. Engaged in the community you serve as the Corporations representative to community organizations in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction and objectives for Radio-Canada Acadie.

  • Ensure effective management of all regional resources (people financial equipment and facilities).

  • Provide positive collaborative and outcome-focused leadership to the Radio-Canada Acadie management team as well as all programming and non-programming staff.

  • Be responsible and accountable for audience ratings and metrics across Radio-Canada Acadie platforms. Work closely with your management team and employees to ensure that results and metrics match or exceed the previous years performance.

  • Ensure the development and production of network programs within the region.

  • Oversee the development of new programming in the context of media priorities.

  • Cultivate close strategic relationships with Radio-Canada Acadie partners to better connect with the community and enhance programming.

  • Act as corporate spokesperson for regional issues. Proactively and positively represent CBC/Radio-Canada within the region and help conduct public relations initiatives particularly targeting cultural and francophone associations.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field (journalism communications administration etc.).

  • Solid strategic planning execution and performance-tracking skills.

  • Strong leadership and experience managing teams preferably in a unionized environment.

  • Excellent positive collaborative and engaging leadership skills.

  • Superior skills and keen interest in communications and interpersonal relations including the ability to communicate effectively with employees colleagues members of the community and outside organizations.

  • Bilingualism (English and French spoken and written) essential.

  • Deep experience in and knowledge of the media cultural and political landscape in Acadie as well as the regions major players and markets.

  • Skills and experience in financial and budgetary management.

  • Journalistic and/or programming background; understanding of content development and production processes an asset.

  • Understanding of the broadcast industry and its practices an asset.
