Job Description:

The Retail Wealth Enablement SLCSI Operations Department plays a pivotal role in our organizations strategic expansion into a new Investment dedicated team under the leadership of the AVP Operations Retail Wealth Enablement is responsible for not only initiating and nurturing the wealth management segment but also ensuring operational excellence with a keen focus on first time-right process design. We place a strong emphasis on partner servicing aligning with internal and external stakeholders and driving process optimization to create efficient cost-effective operations that meet both current and future scalability requirements. Our commitment to delivering high-quality wealth solutions building strong relationships and driving innovation within the department all with a cost-conscious approach is central to our mission of launching a market competitive Investment joining this role will be expected to support Advisors and internal stakeholders by ensuring prudent credit decision-making regulatory compliance and effective risk mitigation. The Analyst will also collaborate closely with Wealth Operations partners and provide flexible operational support as business needs role requires flexibility to support both credit-related activities and broader wealth operations as needed.

What will you do

The Wealth Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of activities from planning and development to the practical execution of wealth management solutions including the following:

  • Identify and assess deteriorating risk situations through your credit analysis - where necessary propose a course of action to mitigate risks to the firm

  • Ensure compliance with margin account agreements by verifying performance against financial covenants margin limits and firm policy

  • Ensure Dealer systems correctly reflect key terms and conditions of credit agreements and other documentation for the assigned account with respect to data integrity

  • Assess approve and monitor margin loans credit limits and collateral in accordance with CIRO regulations and internal policies

  • Monitor client portfolios to identify emerging credit or margin risks and proactively escalate issues with clear recommendations

  • Issue and track margin calls partner with advisors and clients to resolve shortfalls and execute liquidations when required

  • Ensure margin agreements limits and credit terms are accurately reflected in dealer systems and documentation.

  • Partner with advisors and internal teams to respond to credit margin and operational inquiries

  • Contribute to process improvements documentation and system enhancements across Wealth Operations

  • Prepare reporting and analysis on credit exposures concentration risk and portfolio performance for management

What do you need to succeed

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in margin operations credit risk or collateral management within a Canadian Investment Dealer or Bank

  • University Degree Required continuing education preferred (CFA CSC)

  • Understanding of Wealth Products and Wealth Operations

  • Deep understanding of margin regulations (e.g. CIRO) account requirements derivative products and complex option strategies

  • Strong strategic vision with proven leadership and relationship management experience

  • Strong Judgment with excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including facilitation

  • Attention to detail with an ability to see the big picture and to articulate essential facts

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
