Job Summary

Walton Medical Centre are a forward thinking medical practice currently looking to welcome a qualified phlebotomist to join our team. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 16 hours per week. Working with an experienced team weoffer support and training in a friendly and fast paced environment.

Duties will include;

Collecting samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures ensuring correct storage labelling recording and efficient dispatching of samples.
Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.
Checking patient identification against GP or nurse request and confirming with the patient whenever possible.
Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff.
Notifying the GP of any significant patient issues.
Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team.
Maintain a high level of infection control and understand protocols and knowledge of safely managing equipment.

Walton is a seaside town and is a walm and friendly surgery comprising of 2 Partners GPs ANPs Paramedic Social Prescriber PCN GP Care Advisor to name but a few. About the Candidate

To be considered you will need the following;

Phlebotomy experience
Relevant qualification and clinical knowledge and skills in venepuncture.
Experience in taking bloods within either a primary care or hospital setting
Experience of using clinical systems such as SystmOne and EMIS
Experience/knowledge of equipment used
