DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
The Manager Clinical Applications is responsible for the management and coordination of staff activities and budget associated with the development and operational support of the Vancouver Island Health Authoritys (VIHA) Clinical Applications. This includes the provision of services for design development testing implementation upgrade and ongoing maintenance for clinical applications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
A level of education training and experience equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in Health Information Science or a Clinical Profession such as Nursing or Lab Informatics and eight years recent related healthcare experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Effective people management skills.
- Effective coaching and mentorship skills
- Proven consistent ability to keep up with new technologies as they are introduced to the workplace.
- Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation interviewing facilitating and negotiating skills.
- Superior consulting skills.
- Experience in planning directing and controlling projects.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of analysis and design techniques.
- Ability to set goals and expectations and to organize workload and priorities.
- Ability to travel to Provincial National and North American conferences
- Use of a personal vehicle to facilitate travel within a multi-site organization.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
