Position Summary:
Manages all responsibilities in overseeing the entire operation of the Market and staff. Prioritize and delegate responsibilities throughout the Walapai Market departments. Must train staff and maintain levels of outstanding customer service at all times establishing a loyal customer base. Understands and can train staff in proper cash handling skills. Responsible for assisting in managing inventory in-stock position pricing integrity merchandising labor and other operational and financial processes to market standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Developing communicating and implementing all Market policies and procedures. Monitors policies and procedures watching for the possible need to change in order to meet company objectives.
  2. Conducts regular and timely Performance Evaluation discussions and documentation with members of team and promote a positive team environment.
  3. Hold supervisor accountable for daily duties as assigned.
  4. Trains as needed as well as being proficient on the POS system and in training employees on its use.
  5. Ensures that inventory is adequately kept including ordering stocking maintaining and pricing.
  6. Train staff in proper cash and credit handling policies and procedures.
  7. Developes all sales and financial reports in an accurately and timely manner on a daily monthly and annual basis.
  8. Multi-task efficiently and establish positive working relationships.
  9. Provide customers information and see that new employees are trained regarding Hualapai Tourism Hualapai history and culture.
  10. Keep direct report apprised of all issues and concerns.
  11. Ensure that all communications are shared with employees in a timely and accurate manner as appropriate.
  12. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
  1. Prior leadership experience in grocery or retail sales preferred.
  2. Ability to understand and make financial budgetary and business decisions related to grocery sales operations.
  3. Demonstrated ability to communicate well and interact with customers in a clear concise manner and handle escalated issues.
  4. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  5. Ability to lead coach train develop and motivate employees and supervisors to ensure customer expectations are exceeded and handled promptly accurately and courteously.
  6. Demonstrated ability to train others on the POS system and in all retail related sales and merchandizing areas.
  7. Demonstrated ability to foster a team environment multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.
  8. Knowledge of Grand Canyon West locations operations Hualapai history and culture.
Qualifications:
  1. Prior Grocery Store Management experience preferred
  2. Prior experience working with a POS system or cash handling experience
  3. High School Diploma or GED
  4. Good oral communication skills.
  5. Valid Drivers License with clean driving record.
  6. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  7. Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members
Working Conditions:
Retail grocery environment. May be required to lift 50 lb. merchandise boxes. Must be able to work varying schedules weekends and holidays

Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is wholly-owned by the Hualapai Tribe and is located in Peach Springs 1988 the Hualapai People who have been part of this land since time immemorial established GCRC welcoming millions of visitors each year to tour the area. The year 1883 is when the reservation was established and occupiers are usually foreign to the land they occupy. To further increase tourism in the area the Grand Canyon Skywalk was built in 2007. The Skywalk is a glass horseshoe-shaped bridge that enables visitors to walk beyond the canyon walls at Grand Canyon West suspending them 4000 feet above the riverbed and providing an unparalleled view of this natural wonder.
