Job Description

About the Team:

The portfolio performance analytics team provides administrative and analytical support to PMs which can include monitoring portfolio performance conducting statistical analyses assembling and reviewing data completing performance attribution analyses monitoring cash flows and maintaining target allocations.

About the Role:

The Performance Analyst role located in Houston is critical to delivering accurate timely and actionable performance analytics that underpin investment decision-making and regulatory compliance. This position provides essential support for key functions including performance measurement analysis and insights Board and Executive Leadership reporting regulatory adherence and the execution of strategic initiatives such as the ANG implementation. By ensuring data integrity and operational continuity this role mitigates risks related to delays errors and compliance breaches while ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of performance measurement metrics and analysis the drive progression toward organizational objectives.

Responsibilities of the Role:

Performance Calculation Oversight & Analysis:

  • Ensure accuracy of portfolio returns using industry-standard methodologies (e.g. time-weighted and money-weighted returns).

  • Validate daily monthly quarterly and annual performance across diverse investment strategies and regions.

  • Provide interpretation and insights on performance results attribution and peer rankings to internal stakeholders.

  • Compute and interpret risk-adjusted metrics (Sharpe Information Ratio Tracking Error) to assess portfolio efficiency.

  • Monitor outsourced and offshored performance activities to ensure adherence to quality and timeliness standards.

  • Ensure consistency of methodologies across global platforms and regions.

Data Management:

  • Validate input data from internal systems and outsourced/offshored providers.

  • Implement controls to ensure accuracy completeness and timeliness of performance data

  • Collaborate with IT data teams and external providers to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Support system enhancements and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.

Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure adherence to GIPS standards and regulatory requirements across all performance reporting.

  • Monitor and enhance alignment of global operational processes with GIPS standards ensuring uniform application across internal teams and outsourced/offshored partners.

  • Support internal and external audits related to performance data and disclosures.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare clear accurate and insightful performance results for consumption by stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to explain performance results.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Oversee outsourced and offshored performance activities ensuring SLA compliance and quality standards.

  • Act as a liaison between global offices and third-party providers to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Process Improvement & Technology:

  • Contribute to automation initiatives and system enhancements for performance measurement.

  • Support implementation of new tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and scalability.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Degree in Finance Economics Mathematics or related discipline; professional certifications (CIPM CFA) desirable.

  • Proven experience in performance measurement within asset management.

  • Strong understanding of investment accounting portfolio analytics and performance attribution.

  • Familiarity with global operating models including outsourced and offshored functions.

  • High level of mathematical and statistical skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for global stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

  • Proactive approach to process improvement and change management.

  • Collaborative mindset with experience in cross-cultural environments.
