Job Summary
Job Title: Director of Emergency Services
Location: San Antonio TX
Position Type: Full-Time Permanent
Shift: Days No Weekends
Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
Compensation & Incentives
Salary Range: $145000 $160000 (based on experience)
Incentive Bonus: 17.5% 26.25%
Relocation Assistance: Up to $15000
Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis
Position Overview
A high-volume acute care hospital in San Antonio TX is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to provide strategic operational and clinical leadership for the Emergency Department. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care while maintaining regulatory compliance strong financial performance and high levels of staff engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and oversight of Emergency Department operations staffing and clinical practice
Ensure safe efficient and high-quality patient care in alignment with regulatory accreditation and hospital standards
Oversee patient throughput flow and capacity management to optimize emergency services delivery
Develop implement and monitor departmental policies procedures and performance metrics
Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with trauma chest pain and sepsis standards
Manage departmental budget labor productivity staffing models and operating expenses
Collaborate with physicians nursing leadership and hospital administration to support departmental goals and service line growth
Foster a culture of accountability collaboration patient satisfaction and employee engagement
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) Required
Masters Degree Preferred
Minimum 1 year of applicable leadership experience Required
3 years of progressive leadership experience Preferred
