WHAT WE OFFER
Full-time Continuing Fredericton On-Campus
Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri 8:15 am - 4:30 pm 36.25 hours per week
Additional Working Conditions:
- Ability to travel occasionally to the Saint John campus and Moncton site.
Salary Range: $71576 - $97550 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director Transformative Teaching and Learning the Manager Media Production (UNB Studio) is responsible or the day-to-day management of Media Production (UNB Studio) and acts as executive producer technical and creative expert in video multimedia and photographic production at the university. This position will identify opportunities for innovation and new initiatives that will contribute to the continuous improvement and promotion of teaching and learning at UNB.
- Develop and implement long-term plans for technology-enhanced learning innovation to support teaching and learning at the university in alignment with UNB strategic goals.
- Develop a strategic vision and address the demands of faculty members and expectations of students for new and innovative teaching & learning strategies.
- Keep abreast of latest trends in pedagogy advise AV team on trends as well as faculty feedback.
- Research collaborate and develop strong relationships with stakeholders both within and outside UNB.
- Engage with senior leadership and executive director to lead strategic re-visioning for department.
- Develop best practices for use of media with a perspective for higher education needs.
- Liaise with the ITS AV team to receive timeline communication regarding technology updates and classroom technology plans.
- Provide production expertise in support of project initiatives from various departments including academic units Learning Futures senior UNB Leadership Marketing & Communication etc.
- Direct project proposals that are facilitated or achieved through technological hardware and other physical infrastructures like AV (including livestreaming and simulcast).
- Provide overall human resource management to a team of media production staff freelance staff and students ensuring appropriate level of support and training are provided.
- Provide a high level of client service to various stakeholders meeting the clients objectives and promoting innovation through technology in teaching and learning.
- Ensure budgets timelines spreadsheets tracking & reporting systems give a strong accountability framework.
- Streamline services for maximum effectiveness and cost efficiency and develop policies and procedures that define services performance expectations and customer service targets.
- Participate on various committees involving Technology Leadership Marketing & Communication Branding Online Learning and Emerging Media etc.
- Work closely with other Transformative Teaching and Learning units to develop a strong one-stop service.
- Provide service to all sites and campuses and promote our teams services to enhance teaching and research.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelors degree and training in visual arts or media production.
- 2-5 years experience leading a small team.
- Previous experience directing/producing/project management at a senior level in a full production studio.
- Professional experience and a demonstrated portfolio in one or more of the following: video multimedia or photography.
Additional Strengths
- Masters degree is an asset.
- Technical expertise in video multimedia photography and digital imaging and printing applications graphics software and hardware and associated products.
- Experience working in higher education with knowledge of teaching & learning.
- Demonstrated ability to apply visual media knowledge into various applications including teaching and learning motivating student communication fund-raising etc.
- Ability to work effectively with peers subordinates senior level administration and all other stakeholders.
- Ability to research analyze and resolve problems evaluate alternatives and develop recommendations.
- Strategic thinking skills including the ability to identify risks and opportunities and provide sound advice.
- Ability to manage multiple technical projects as well as manage high-volume quick turnaround multimedia engagements.
