The R&D Specialist is responsible for supporting the R&D sustainment team to develop new separation science products methods and techniques execute experimental part of a research project and summarize and report data. It will also be responsible for providing analytical support keeping instruments calibrated and in excellent working condition and performing simple maintenance tasks.

This position reports to the R&D Manager Column Packing and is part of the R&D department located in Torrance CA and will be an on-site role.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Executes sets of experiments according to existing protocols designed by supervisor and/or project lead to provide synthetic support to develop technologies involving surface modification of silica and polymer particles as well as scale up efforts from small laboratory scale to pilot- and full manufacturing-scale
  • Operates troubleshoots and maintains laboratory equipment
  • Performs physical and chemical testing of chromatographic sorbents HPLC columns and sample preparation products with limited supervision

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related STEM field with 2 years industry experience or Associates Degree in Chemistry or related STEM field with 5 years industry experience or High School with 10 years industry experience
  • Experience with operating laboratory tools and instruments such as analytical balance pipettes elemental analyzer HPLC and/or GC. Ensures all work is accurate and free of errors / defects
  • Must have knowledge of safety measures when working with hazardous chemicals

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and database applications

The hourly range for this role is $32.93/hr - $43.27/hr. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
