Position Summary
The Lead Mobile Phlebotomist is responsible for performing phlebotomy in our long-term care sector. This position will also be responsible for training new staff and provides ongoing education and development as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Lead Mobile Phlebotomist you will be responsible for servicing long- term care facilities assisted living homes or other specified locations to collect blood samples for diagnostic testing. You will also be responsible for assisting with training and development of staff to include training on MCL processes and systems. This role requires excellent communication phlebotomy skills and the ability to work independently while providing compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
& Client Interaction: Provide exceptional patient care addressing any concerns or questions while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor. Visit clients (providers/nurses) and ensure they are satisfied with services being provided by MCL staff. Discuss client concerns as needed.
Procedures: Safely and accurately draw blood samples using various venipuncture techniques ensuring the integrity of the specimens and following proper protocols. Work with CareEvolve Phlebio and other systems that MCL uses during the processing of samples.
Management: Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies ensuring they are in good working condition. Work with Logistics to manage supplies and ordering for the mobile phlebotomy department.
and Documentation: Properly label and document all collected samples adhering to established procedures and ensuring accuracy.
: Safely transport collected samples to the designated laboratory or processing facility in a timely manner following established transportation and storage guidelines. Adhere to all MCL fleet policy requirements. Assist team with understanding the fleet policy.
Control: Adhere to infection control procedures maintain a clean and sterile work environment and dispose of biohazardous materials safely.
: Stay updated on industry regulations guidelines and best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare standards and policies.
: Provide clear and concise communication with patients healthcare providers and the laboratory team to ensure seamless sample processing and accurate results. Work with dispatch to ensure add-on and schedule is accurate.
Education and Experience
Certified Phlebotomist with a valid state license and any additional required certifications.
Previous experience as a phlebotomist particularly in a mobile or in-home care setting is preferred.
Strong understanding of venipuncture techniques blood collection and safety protocols. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently manage time efficiently and adapt to changing schedules.
A valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Clean driving record and ability to travel to various locations.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Basic computer skills for record-keeping and electronic documentation.

Work Conditions
The Core Laboratory Supervisor employed at Madison Core Laboratories will perform work that requires standing walking lifting grasping repetitive motion and lifting of up to 30 lbs. Occasional stooping squatting pushing pulling climbing and overhead lifting.
