Job Description:
The Experience of Care Specialist II is responsible for managing and resolving formal patient complaints grievances and appeals in compliance with CMS Joint Commission and organizational policies. This role conducts detailed investigations into quality-of-care and service-related concerns drafts written grievance responses and collaborates closely with clinical leadership Legal Risk Management and Quality teams.
The position requires managing complex sensitive cases engaging directly with patients and families and ensuring regulatory timelines and documentation standards are met. This is a non-clinical administrative role and does not involve hands-on patient care.
Key Requirements:
Experience handling patient complaints grievances or appeals in a healthcare setting
Working knowledge of CMS and Joint Commission grievance requirements
Strong written communication skills including drafting formal patient correspondence
Ability to manage high-conflict situations with professionalism and discretion
Experience collaborating with clinical legal or risk management partners
