Job Summary

Position Summary:

Franklin University a private independent accredited not-for-profit University located in Columbus Ohio invites applicants for its Adjunct Faculty-Radiologic Technology position. The Adjunct Faculty role includes primary responsibility for providing quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment with an emphasis placed on teaching supporting and evaluating students. Assigned courses will be for online instruction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaches courses in discipline
  • Maintains attendance records determines and submits grades with established timeframes established by the University
  • Creates a welcoming inclusive and productive learning environment
  • Supports the resolution of student issues related to course instruction
  • Provides feedback on what is working and what is not with the course
  • Participates in all department meetings and required training
  • Participates in personal professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Faculty

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Sciences or other healthcare or science-related field
  • Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration or equivalent in radiography (R)
  • Documents two years clinical experience in the professional discipline
  • Holds academic and/or professional credentials appropriate to the subject content area taught
  • Is knowledgeable of course development instruction evaluation and academic advising
  • Commitment to collaborative & collegiate relationships
  • Maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Knowledge of higher education regulations compliance and accrediting agencies
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner and work effectively with faculty staff students and members of the professional community
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the radiologic technology discipline in order to accurately and effectively educate students while optimizing patient care/safety
  • Instructors are required to comply with all accreditation and regulatory requirements

Preferred Skills and Characteristics:

  • Master of Science degree Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or other healthcare or related field
  • Five years of clinical experience in the field of Radiologic Technology
  • 1-3 years teaching in a post-secondary Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Additional certifications in other modalities i.e. Computerized Tomography (CT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Cardiovascular Interventional or Vascular Interventional (CI/VI) Nuclear Medicine (NM) Sonography (S) Vascular Sonography (VS) Mammography (M)
