Job Summary

Responsibilities:Planning:Select appropriate performance music for the band to rehearse and perform based on school calendar events and concerts throughout the year. (Veterans Day Celebration Christmas Concert In-School Concert in March Spring Concert and Graduation).Develop a weekly individual lesson schedule for all band students coordinating with their class schedules as research based instructional strategies designed to engage students in contentPlan for intentional biblical worldview development in lessonsInstruction:Teach introductory instrumental techniques music theory and sight-reading in individual and group settings within a biblically faithful classroom management in accordance with school policy expecting responsive respectful behavior from studentsAssessment:Use research based assessment strategies both formative and summative to guide instruction and positively influence student growth and learningKeep detailed records of student growth reporting on trimester report cards and communicating with parents otherwise as :Attend and actively participate in staff meetings in-service meetings team meetings and PLC group meetingsAttend morning prayer times when it aligns with instructional schedules (7:40am)Organization:Maintain inventory and inspect school-owned band instruments arranging for repairs as students in the areas specific to the contracted teaching assignmentParticipate in content specific training as requiredParticipate on special committees in support of school-wide activities as required
