Description
The Child Impact Seminar Leader will be responsible for the delivery of the State Mandated Child Impact Seminars. These four-hour seminars provide information on how to minimize the potential negative impact of divorce and separation on children.
- The Child Impact Seminar Leaders will prepare for and deliver the four-hour curriculum developed by the Behavioral Health Network and adopted by the 10 Community Mental Health Centers.
- Present the Child Impact curriculum with fidelity.
- Responsible for keeping track of participant attendance at each seminar distributing and collecting evaluations for each seminar from each participant and distributing attendance certificates to participants. This paperwork will be given to the Parent Outreach Program Coordinator at the completion of each seminar.
- Demonstrate a high standard of professional conduct and ethical behavior that will enhance the quality of care and encourage positive interactions among staff and clients. Treats co-workers and clients in a consistently professional manner. Maintains a strict standard of confidentiality around client issues and personnel matters.
- Responsible for room set up and clean up.
Requirements
- Facilitation of groups
- Solid knowledge of human development
- Understanding of parents and childrens emotional needs
- Knowledge of impact of divorce on children
- Ability to operate a laptop computer and projector to present power point slides and video segments to participants.
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team to deliver the seminar
Masters degree in Family Therapy or a related field OR ability to receive a waiver from the Behavior Health Network and previous experience working with groups.
