What youll do:

As a Compliance Advisory Specialist you will immerse yourself in day-to-day activities that centre around providing expert guidance on regulatory requirements for corporate banking products. Your role will involve collaborating with multiple departments to interpret complex regulations supporting new business initiatives with insightful compliance input and maintaining vigilant oversight over emerging compliance issues. You will be instrumental in assisting with drafting policies that set clear standards and requirements while also participating in regular reviews that help identify areas for improvement. You will also support preparation of reports for governance forums and assisting with special projects as needed. Success in this position requires technical proficiency ability to build trusting relationships across teams ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and high adaptability to changing regulatory landscapes.

  • Provide practical advice and support to stakeholder departments regarding interpretation of regulatory and policy requirements across various corporate banking products such as loans bonds trade finance and treasury services.
  • Support the team by reviewing new business initiatives new product launches or changes in processes ensuring compliance input is integrated at every stage.
  • Monitor key compliance issues diligently and ensure prompt escalation to senior management or the Head of Compliance when necessary.
  • Assist in managing the regulatory change cycle within existing processes to maintain alignment with evolving regulations and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to compliance reviews and monitoring activities to uphold high standards of regulatory adherence throughout the organisation.
  • Draft clear and effective compliance policies and procedures that reflect current regulatory expectations and internal standards.
  • Contribute to developing comprehensive reporting materials and periodic presentations for governance forums to keep all stakeholders informed on compliance matters.
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects as required by the Head of Compliance demonstrating flexibility and willingness to support broader departmental objectives.

Your proven experience as a Compliance Advisory Specialist will be evident through your deep familiarity with Hong Kongs regulatory landscape as it applies to corporate banking. Above all else your sense of responsibility ensures that every action taken supports both organisational goals and wider community trust.

  • University degree from a recognised institution is essential for this position.
  • At least five years of experience working within the financial industry ideally specialising in Corporate or Commercial Banking within Compliance Risk Management Internal Control or Audit functions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Hong Kongs regulatory framework and requirements relevant to corporate banking operations.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required for effective communication across teams and with external parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated enough to manage tasks independently when needed.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability towards assigned responsibilities ensures reliability within the department.
  • Excellent communication skills paired with well-developed interpersonal abilities enable you to build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement reflects your dedication to staying abreast of industry developments.
