Rio Tinto Aluminium & Lithium (RTAL) is looking for an enthusiastic Adviser Geologist wishing to become a valued member of the team and to build a career with Rio Tinto.

We welcome applications from qualified geologists with relevant experience in the field.

Our team is based in Brisbane but the role requires Fly In Fly Out work to Weipa Far North QLD and other ad-hoc travel during the year.

The role operates on a seasonal structure (dates may vary depending on weather and operational requirements):

Officebased period December May

• Brisbane office location
• Monday to Friday hours

Fieldbased period May November

• FIFO to Weipa
• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster

This role is a great opportunity to develop your leadership capability and work on some exciting geology projects whilst being located in Brisbane.

Reporting to the Senior Geologist you will be:

• Promoting a safe healthy and environmentally responsible working culture which will lead to a zero-harm workplace.
• Assisting in the design implementation and management to deliver drilling programs.
• Supporting RTA Projects to evaluate the future exploitation of bauxite mineralisation.
• Assisting in the interpretation of resource evaluation information.

About You

To be successfully considered for this role you will bring:

• A demonstrated positive safety culture.
• A degree in geology or related discipline.
• A passion for achieving technical excellence.
• Strong teamwork skills and an ability to communicate clearly and respectfully.
• The ability to lead a team of people in the field.
• Operational strengths (logistics coordination contractor management supervision) and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and agile environment.
• Have <5 years relevant industry experience.
