Improving health will be one of the defining impacts of AGI. Today millions of people lack access to reliable medical information and clinicians around the world face increasing time and resource constraints. We are building AI systems like ChatGPT Health and OpenAI for Healthcare that support patients clinicians and health workers while meeting the highest standards for safety reliability and privacy.

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced product designer to craft the healthcare product experiences of today and tomorrow. Design plays a critical role here. Youll create products that are easy to use beautiful and push the boundaries of whats possible to enable the healthcare system to deliver better care and hundreds of millions of people to lead healthier lives. Youll help chart our course into the future shaping our product direction and design culture.

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to the overall design and product direction of OpenAI products.

  • Design and ship high-quality products and improvements from early concepts to high-fidelity prototypes and visuals.

  • Partner closely with engineering product management AI research and design peers to define both long-term strategy and short-term tactics.

  • Engage in user research to better understand our users (patients clinicians consumers that want to improve their health) and refine our products.

  • Contribute to and evolve our design system.

  • Help establish our design culture and grow our team.

  • Take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them to practical high quality solutions.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Are deeply motivated by improving health outcomes and expanding access to medical expertise.

  • Have 8 years of experience shipping larger scale software products.

  • Have a portfolio showcasing strong UX UI and interaction design skills with a high bar for quality and craft.

  • Love thinking through complex interaction design problems.

  • Possess impactful communication and storytelling skills.

  • Enjoy tackling ambiguous problems and shaping them into a clear vision.

  • Get excited about being immersed in the AI research process and defining how AI-first products should look and behave.

Bonus if you have:

  • Prior experience with health-related products.

  • Experience building compliant or regulated products (healthcare enterprise finance or similar).
