Position Summary

The intern will help in the design of novel antibody therapeutics and learn how to fit these designs into a gene therapy delivery vehicle. Their goals will be to show that they can express these novel antibodies in cells and determine if they can measure any effect of the antibodies in an in vitro cell culture.

The Intern- R&D Platform Biology will report to the Director of Platform Biology and be based in the Edinburgh site.

Job Responsibilities

Learn the basic elements of genetic engineering/molecular biology
Understand how to fit molecular biology vectors into gene therapy vehicles
Learn about the different antibody formats and how we can apply them in a therapeutic context
Present data to the Platform Biology team and participate in lab meetings
Attend company seminars and town halls

Minimum Requirements

Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Biology or related field
Must be at least a sophomore at university at the time of your application
Strong attention to detail and record keeping
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Collaborative spirit and ability to work well in a team
Right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship
Must be available to work full-time during the summer months at our UK AskBio office
