Oracle Fusion Middleware Engineer (12c14c) — OCI Support

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Fusion Middleware Engineer to support operate and optimize Oracle Fusion Middleware (OFMW) platforms across 12c and 14c both on-premises and in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will own incident/problem/change management patching and upgrades performance tuning automation and secure integrations for missioncritical workloads.

Required qualifications

• 5 years administering and supporting Oracle Fusion Middleware (12c and/or 14c) in enterprise environments.
• Strong handson with Oracle WebLogic Server: domain creation clustering security realms JDBC/JMS WLST scripting Node Manager performance tuning and troubleshooting (logs/diagnostics).
• Practical experience with at least two of the following: Oracle SOA Suite Oracle Service Bus (OSB) OHS/OTD OAM/OID/OUD/IDCS integration OIG ESS BI Publisher/FAW integration endpoints.
• Solid understanding of integration patterns (SOAP/REST) XML/XSD/XSLT WSDL WS-Policy JSON; experience debugging faults timeouts and payload/transform issues.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix administration and tooling (shell scripting; grep/sed/awk/find; systemd; file permissions; networking basics).
• JVM and application performance tuning (GC strategies heap/thread dumps flight recorder/mission control WLDF AWR/ASH collaboration with DBAs).
• Security fundamentals: SSL/TLS keystores cert lifecycle mTLS SSO (SAML/OAuth) secrets management and compliance-minded hardening of WebLogic/OFMW.
• Experience operating OFMW in OCI or other cloud: load balancers DNS certificates Bastion Audit IAM policies Compartments Logging/Monitoring Object Storage.
• Scripting/automation with WLST Python Bash and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OCI Resource Manager).
• Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to partner with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience upgrading from 12c to 14c; planning regression testing rollback strategies and compatibility considerations.
• Knowledge of Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) or containerized workloads for middleware-adjacent services; understanding of when to use containerization vs. traditional domains.
• Enterprise monitoring/observability tools (Oracle Enterprise Manager Prometheus/Grafana Splunk/ELK Dynatrace/AppDynamics).
• Background integrating with Oracle SaaS (ERP/HCM/SCM/CX) and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) endpoints.
• Familiarity with Advanced Networking in OCI (DRG FastConnect IPSec VPN) WAF and edge services.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent operational experience in regulated environments.

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c/14c components ensuring high availability reliability and performance across production and nonproduction environments.
• Administer and tune Oracle WebLogic Server domains (admin/managed servers clusters JDBC/JMS thread pools data sources connection pools Work Managers Node Manager).
• Operate and support middleware products including (as applicable): SOA Suite Service Bus (OSB) Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) Oracle Traffic Director (OTD) Oracle Access Manager (OAM) Oracle Internet Directory (OID)/OUD Oracle Identity Governance (OIG) Oracle Enterprise Scheduler (ESS) Oracle Enterprise Manager (EM) Cloud Control and Fusion Analytics/BI Publisher.
• Design implement and support secure integrations and APIs (SOAP/REST) including policies message security SSL/TLS certificates/keystores and OAuth/SAML when integrated with IDCS/OAM.
• Plan and execute patching and upgrades (PSUs/BPs) domain reconfiguration schema upgrades (RCU) and zero/minimal downtime strategies using rolling restart/cluster techniques.
• Implement monitoring alerting and observability for middleware and JVM health (GC heap/threads) integrations and endpoints; create runbooks and automate remediation where feasible.
• Support deployments and CI/CD pipelines for middleware artifacts (SOA composites OSB projects Web apps/ear/war) including promotion between environments and configuration management.
• Collaborate with DBAs network security and application teams to troubleshoot endtoend issues across app middleware DB and network layers; drive rootcause analysis and prevention.
• Engineer and operate OFMW on OCI: design and manage compute networking (VCNs subnets load balancers) storage security lists/NSGs vault/keys certificates and secrets; leverage Resource Manager/Terraform and OCI Observability.
• Participate in oncall rotations and ITIL processes (incident problem change release).
