High School Cheer Coach

The Aurora R-VIII School District is seeking a motivated organized and student-centered individual to serve as Head High School Cheer Coach at Aurora High School. This position provides an opportunity to positively impact students while supporting a strong culture of school spirit sportsmanship and leadership.
Position Overview
The High School Cheer Coach is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the Aurora High School cheer program. The coach will work collaboratively with the Activities Director building administrators and fellow coaches to ensure the program aligns with district expectations and Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
Organize supervise and coach the high school cheer program
Promote school spirit sportsmanship leadership and positive representation of Aurora High School
Plan and conduct practices performances and events
Supervise cheerleaders at athletic contests and school activities
Teach and reinforce proper techniques safety procedures and performance skills
Communicate effectively with students parents administrators and staff
Maintain high expectations for student behavior academic eligibility and attendance
Assist with tryouts team selection and off-season activities as applicable
Ensure compliance with district policies and MSHSAA regulations
Qualifications
Prior coaching or cheer experience preferred
Ability to work effectively with high school-aged students
Strong organizational communication and leadership skills
Commitment to student development and education-based athletics/activities
Must meet all MSHSAA and district coaching requirements
Terms of Employment
Seasonal stipend position
Length of season and compensation per district schedule
Employment contingent upon successful background check and board approval
