Digital Solutions Consultant I (CFD)

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Chemical Aerospace Civil or a related engineering discipline. A PhD is considered a plus.
• 35 years of experience in engineering analysis using CFD tools.

• Practical experience with commercial CFD software (e.g. ANSYS Fluent).

• Understanding turbulence heat transfer multiphase flow and fluid-structure interactions.
• Knowledge and experience of FEA.
• Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards (e.g. ISO AS API ASME DNV).
• Competency in Python or similar scripting languages for pre/post-processing is advantageous.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills in English are essential. Proficiency in additional languages such as Indonesian Malay or Chinese or other regional languages will be considered an asset.
• Site experience is not essential but advantageous.

• This role provides a development pathway toward Senior or Principal Consultant positions within the Digital Consulting discipline. Exposure will include a wide range of simulation-based projects across design verification integrity assessment and digital engineering applications in the energy and resources sectors. This role provides a structured development pathway toward:
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) recognition.
  • Subject Matter Expert in areas such as flow assurance thermal-fluid engineering environmental fluid mechanics and wind engineering.
  • Digital Consulting Technologist with expertise in advanced simulation techniques and emerging digital technologies.
  • Progression will be supported through exposure to complex analysis projects mentorship from senior consultants and collaboration across simulation engineering design and digital consulting discipline.

  The Role
  

  
  As a Digital Solution Consultant I with Worley you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
  

• Technical Execution
  
  • Develop CFD models for steady-state and transient simulations applying appropriate boundary conditions turbulence models and multiphase or heat transfer representations.
  • Conduct simulations using commercial CFD tools such as ANSYS Fluent ANSYS CFX or equivalent software to support design and assessment activities.
  • Perform checks on mesh quality solution convergence and result interpretation to ensure reliable outcomes.

  • Apply relevant design codes standards and analytical methods to validate CFD results.

    Support multidisciplinary engineering teams with numerical insights and recommendations for system optimisation flow assurance or risk mitigation.

  • Prepare detailed analysis reports documenting assumptions methodology results and engineering conclusions.
    
• Project Delivery
  • Deliver assigned CFD analysis tasks within agreed schedules budgets and quality requirements.
  • Participate in technical reviews to ensure quality and consistency across simulation senior team members in managing project documentation version control and model traceability
    
    

• Business Support

  • Assist the Software and Simulation Business in Southeast Asia by providing technical expertise demonstrations and proof-of-concept studies that showcase the value of simulation tools in solving real engineering problems.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to align technical capabilities with client needs and regional market initiatives.
    
• Continuous Development
  • Maintain awareness of new developments in CFD methodologies multiphase modelling and computational practices.
  • Contribute to workflow improvement through automation or scripting where applicable (e.g. Python MATLAB).
  • Support internal knowledge-sharing initiatives and contribute to the teams technical database or modelling standards.
    
• Health Safety and Quality:
  • Ensure all analysis work complies with applicable health and safety requirements and internal quality management systems.

  • Apply safe working practices in all assigned tasks and actively participate in safety initiatives.

• Position Summary
  • The CFD Engineer performs professional engineering work requiring sound knowledge of fluid mechanics thermodynamics and heat transfer along with proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation.
  • The role involves developing executing and validating numerical models to assess flow heat and transport phenomena in complex systems applying engineering judgement to solve practical design and operational challenges.
  • The CFD Engineer contributes to the delivery of technically challenging projects working under the guidance of senior consultants while progressively developing subject matter expertise in simulation-based engineering.
