Thepositionis responsible forthe goods coming in and out of the Student Housing &Community Serviceswarehouse space which is used to hold supplies for the conference operation (linens amenity items signageetc).The position will receive and redistribute laundry and miscellaneous supplies to support Conference and Hospitality operations from May to August.This position is seasonal and requires the flexibility for working various shifts including dayeveningand weekendshifts.
Reports directly to theAssociate Director Accommodations works closely withConferenceSales and ServicesManagers Facility Operations External vendors and Housing &CommunityServices staff.
- Receives unpacks shelves and labels supplies coming into the warehouse.
- Distributessupplies andclean linens to conference buildingson a daily basisto meetoperational requirements
- Ensures Laundry is ready for pick up by supplier on designated days.
- Receivesclean linens andprepares for distribution between conferenceand hotelbuildings.
- Completesdaily checks of buildings including Quality Assurance of empty units collection ofLost & Found Items and distribution ofvisitor informationas needed
- Maintainsthewarehousein a cleanneatand organized manner.Ensures all product boxes are labelled
- Completes dailyshiftreports
- Provides inventory checksonce a month and performs a thorough inventory count at end of season
- Reviews inventoryfor damageandrecyclesordiscardsas necessary.
- Provides recommendations on ordering new supplies to keep inventory at a predetermined level.
- Assistsin Conference setups as needed.
Errors of judgement inappropriate decisions on procedures or policiesanduntimely completion of linen distributioncould negativelyimpacttheconferenceoperation stall vendor housekeeping schedule and impact room inventory sales.
Errors in inventory counts at year endcanimpactthe ordering of new inventory and available stock for the following conference season.
Works independently and within teamsunder the general direction of theAssociate Director Accommodation.
Completion of Grade 12or equivalent.Minimum 6 months experience or an equivalent combination of education and experiencewith a proven work historyshowing the ability to work independently and complete tasks ona timelymanner.ValidClass 5drivers license is a requirement andahistory of driving a moving truck or large vehicleis necessary.
- Ability to organize prioritizeplanand executework assignment
- Experience with Microsoft applications
- Ability to perform strenuous physical workfor a full shift
- Required tolift upto50lbsdaily
- Assume uncomfortable and awkward positions and work outdoors
- Ability toperform work safelywithin work safe guidelines
- Required to have aClass 5 drivers license
- Experience with 5 Ton trucks and automatic lifts
- Familiar with Campus Residence Facilities
