General Maintenance Operative

Location - Wirral

Hourly Rate - 13.03

Hours per week - 37 hours and 30 minutes per week

You may be required to work at any location within the company your base will be Hardknott Road. A current full UK driving licence is required for this role. The ability to drive a company vehicle which will be provided for business use only.

Physical Conditions:

Work is performed in standing and sitting positions. The work is undertaken indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

This role will also includes on call shifts.

Core tasks:

• To carry out a variety of planned and reactive building maintenance tasked which will be varied in nature and will include general building hard/soft landscaping joinery tiling painting paving and external works drainage and plumbing as directed by the Estates & Facilities Manager Maintenance & Projects Officer or Senior Maintenance Operative.
• To carry out planned preventative building maintenance in line with set programmes.
• To carry out repairs and/or replace all associated plumbing work where necessary.
• To repair or renew foul water pipes and drainage work and components.
• To report any faults or potential faults relating to water and heating systems
• To carry out small plumbing installations to include: bathroom/kitchen refurbishments and the repair or renewal of non-gas or electrical components of heating systems.
• Undertake general facilities support tasks including furniture building and furniture removals grounds and site clearance and keeping areas clean and tidy generally.
• Work individually or as part of a team to complete repair and maintenance tasks
• Ensure a safe environment for staff people we support and visitors by carrying out regular checks and adhering to health and safety regulations.
• To comply with Health and Safety Guidelines and work instructions issued by Senior Management.
• Work with various different types of machinery and equipment.
• Report to the Head of Estates & Facilities or Estates & Facilities Supervisor any other internal or external damage to the buildings property or site.
• To liaise with outside contractors or inspectors when requested.
• Maintain accurate records with regard to ongoing building or grounds maintenance works.
• To undertake basic mandatory training and development training where deemed appropriate.
• You will be required to participate in on call duties on a weekly rota basis during weekday evenings and at weekends.
• In exceptional circumstances the General Maintenance Operative may be called in during off duty hours to help deal with an emergency.
