Job Summary
CAD Designer creates detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and models using Computer-Aided Design software for engineering manufacturing or construction projects collaborating with teams to translate concepts into precise blueprints ensuring designs meet specifications standards and timelines. Key duties involve drafting revising models selecting materials performing simulations and maintaining design documentation requiring strong computer skills technical knowledge (engineering math) and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Drafting: Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for complex parts assemblies or structures using software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Collaboration: Work with engineers architects and project managers to understand requirements and incorporate feedback.
Optimization: Analyze and refine designs for functionality cost-effectiveness material selection and manufacturability.
Technical Documentation: Prepare technical specifications reports and detailed drawings for production.
Quality Control: Run tests simulations and ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
Project Management Support: Help establish timelines budgets and maintain design version control.
Stay Current: Keep updated with the latest CAD software and industry technologies.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in relevant CAD software (AutoCAD SolidWorks etc.).
Strong understanding of engineering principles materials and mathematics.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of specific industry standards (e.g. architectural mechanical).
