About the role

We are looking for two experienced Platform Delivery & Design Specialists to join Rio Tintos global Modern ERP (MERP) transformation supporting the MPR (Manage Planning & Reporting) functional domain.

There are currently two contract opportunities available ideally seeking experienced senior SAP S/4HANA Finance Functional Consultants who bring strong handson configuration experience and a deep understanding of finance processes.

As part of the MPR Platform Delivery team you will play a critical role in reviewing functional specifications validating design changes supporting testing cycles managing defects and ensuring highquality delivery in partnership with GPOs(Global Process Owners) SMEs and other delivery partners.

Responsibilities include:

• Team Member: A member of the MPR Tech Delivery team responsible for the delivery of the SAP S/4HANA Finance solution within the MPR domain addressing both functional and non-functional requirements of the finance teams ensuring systems are scalable maintainable and ensuring alignment to the Modern ERP design.

• Leadership: you will take a lead role in advising the project SI MPR team members to ensure objectives for each project stage are completed

• Solution Design: Review WRICEFS functional and technical designs configurations assessing integration and cross GPO impacts dependencies and feasibility.

• Documentation: Ensure quality and completeness of all MPR documentation for solution architecture technical frameworks system components and integration ensuring clarity for all stakeholders.

• Testing: Quality assurance of testing approach scope methodology results evaluation and defects resolution.

• Governance & Compliance: Ensure that all solutions adhere to governance standards security policies and regulatory requirements.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with finance leaders other GPO teams business SMEs and technical teams across the program.

• Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in agile ceremonies providing technical input to ensure architectural integrity throughout the software delivery cycle

About you

• Experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance Functional Consultant with strong configuration and endtoend process knowledge.

• Skilled in documenting and reviewing functional specifications and understanding technical impacts.

• Handson experience across SAP project phases including testing and defect management.

• Comfortable reviewing development deliverables and ensuring quality standards are met.

• Able to manage multiple concurrent deliverables.

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across multiple teams and vendors.

• Independent proactive and confident operating in a large complex global transformation.

The Modern ERP Implementation Program team within the Group Finance function will bring together a variety of specialist skillsets to shape our digital future and simplify automate modernise and improve our ways of working globally.

We are finding better ways to simplify our operations expand our capability and improve productivity to do this we are embarking on an exciting journey that will transition us to a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform moving from an old outdated technology to a new digitally enabled S/4HANA and application ecosystem.

An effective ERP solution is a key enabler to Rio Tintos goal to be the best Best Operator given 30-60 per cent of our frontline time is spent in the system. To deliver this change we are working closely with each of the Product Groups (PGs) and Functions to modernise how we operate in the system. Consequently this program is a technology enabled business led program.
