We are seeking to hire a results-driven Technical Sales Officer to manage agronomy support product sales and project development within an assigned region. The role focuses on delivering technical solutions building strong customer relationships and driving sales growth in irrigation and greenhouse systems.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Market and sell irrigation and greenhouse products and systems within the allocated region
- Prospect develop and manage new and existing customers and projects
- Interpret customer needs and prepare accurate quotations
- Present negotiate and close sales deals
- Follow up on consumables and project quotations to shorten sales cycles
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets
- Assist with debt collection and reduction of overdue accounts
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
Conduct regular customer visits and provide after-sales technical support
Handle customer enquiries complaints and product quality claims
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive service
Technical & Agronomy Support
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate records in Google Sheets / Epicor including:
Customer master lists
Quotations (consumables and projects)
Future projects and expansions
Agronomy services and demo trials
Weekly work programs
Sales forecasts
Quarterly performance reports
Demo and field trial reports
Collect and update crop acreage data within the region
Marketing & Training
Conduct customer and team training on the latest farming technologies and products
Coordinate supplier-led training sessions and field days
Participate in agricultural trade fairs exhibitions and company training programs
Work with the marketing team on product promotions publications and sales specials
Stakeholder Engagement
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Agronomy or a related field
Sales customer service or sales strategy training is an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years experience in sales agronomy or a related technical environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong sales negotiation and customer engagement abilities
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Ability to work independently and meet targets
Required Skills:
ertiary qualification in Agronomy or a related field Sales customer service or sales strategy training is an added advantage Minimum of 5 years experience in sales agronomy or a related technical environment
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Sales Marketing Agribusiness or a related field.
