Position Summary

The Intern-Biostatistics will gain experience working in the pharmaceutical industry as a statistician supporting clinical research and product development research. The intern is expected to apply basic knowledge of statistical design analysis and programming techniques. At the end of their internship the intern will have an understanding the work expected from a statistician in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry.

The intern will be based in RTP North Carolina and will report to the VP Biostatistics.

Job Responsibilities

• Support statistical planning and analysis across the company.
• Support the development and review of analysis plans based on study specific documents and sound statistical methodology
• Support the development maintenance and production of statistical programs and specifications used in creating analysis datasets and reports.
• Ensure the quality and integrity of data analysis and reporting
• Interact with project team members and line management to identify priorities consult on study design and interpret results
• Participate in internal study team and departmental meetings
• Conduct and present a summary of literature research that support AskBio product development
• Present a summary of AskBio internship experience at the end of program

Minimum Requirements

• Must be pursuing a Masters degree in statistics or biostatistics at the time of your application
• Ability to program in one or more statistical software packages
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive and solution-driven mindset
• Strong sense of accountability and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Flexible and willing to support a variety of tasks for the Biostatistics team
• Available to work full-time during the summer months (May-August) at an AskBio office

Preferred Education Experience and Skills

• Prior internship work or volunteer/extracurricular experience
• Working knowledge of SAS or other statistical analysis package
