Caterpillars Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train zero-emissions products/technologies and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries fuel cells motors inverters micro grid controllers charging energy storage systems lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.
As an Engineering Project Team Leader for the Power Electronic Systems & Component you will be joining an innovative team on the cutting edge of electrification. You will have the unique opportunity to direct and lead the power electronics design projects lead the concept development and design of power electronic components. The Power Electronics team is part of the electrified powertrain organization of Electrification and Energy Solutions(EES) and is involved in end-to-end design and development of power electronics for multiple Caterpillar applications.
You will partner with other members of the design team as well as provide project guidance to global team members. You will be responsible for the execution and coordination of the design efforts necessary for the successful design and development of low and medium voltage power electronic components. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a highly experienced team of engineers who have significant experience across Caterpillar electric drive and stationary power conversion applications.
Roles and Responsibilities
Serve as the point of contact for project execution across all Power Electronics (PE) activities for Team India.
Develop project scope to address business challenges and identify opportunities.
Coordinate project execution activities from EES India across PE domains.
Oversee project progress and costs; communicate status updates with stakeholders and participating functional areas; address and resolve issues proactively.
Direct project staffing; motivate and develop the project team and individual team members.
Collaborate with U.S.-based component and system value stream leads across EES and other organizations to establish application requirements for power electronics components and systems.
Identify and engage with other Caterpillar SMEs to define requirements and support virtual design concepting especially in areas where the team lacks expertise.
Stay current with the latest advancements in power electronics and motor technologies and solutions.
Collaborate with global teams to drive end-to-end execution of requirements generation component design simulation validation and Production development.
Ensure alignment with processes and quality standards across all development stages.
Contribute to global EES strategy by representing Indias execution capabilities and aligning with enterprise goals.
Degree Requirement:
Bachelors / Masters degree/Ph.D. in Electronics or Electrical or equivalent engineering stream.
Technical Excellence: Extensive design and product development knowledge for components systems automotive or earthmoving applications
Level Extensive Experience:
Experience with electric drive components is a plus
Experience with quality tools including FMEA APQP & PPAP
Experience with Issue resolution process
Analytical Thinking: Experience with validation and testing methods.
