We are hiring for a Vice President of Development in Jacksonville FL! This position will lead the success of large fundraising campaigns in the region through staff management and networking with the highest-level executives in the market to engage them as volunteers and corporate partners. Reporting to the Executive Director Jacksonville the VP will lead a team of seven fundraising directors with four direct reports. Daily travel within the market is required.

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive of up to 25% of your base pay! The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities

  • Operationalizing the vision management of staff and implementation of strategic priorities and volunteer and employee engagement plans
  • Overall strategy for successful fundraising adherence to prescribed timelines guidelines and staff accountability
  • Recruiting and leading high-level volunteers and volunteer leadership committees to implement and optimally complete assigned revenue goals and activities
  • Achieving financial targets while leading multiple revenue channels
  • Driving new business development and growing the number of new partnerships supporting the work of the American Heart Association
  • Preparing the operating budget for the region and ensuring expenditures are reasonable
  • Growing overall market revenue by implementing organizationally identified standard processes
  • Participating in community and corporate functions that will provide networking and visibility opportunities to facilitate generating new business contacts

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in fundraising or outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.

  • 3 years of experience in a management capacity. This experience may occur within the 3-year related experience requirement. Experience gained through direct internal work on American Heart Association projects/priorities may substitute for this requirement and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven verbal and written communication skills including large and small group presentations group facilitation and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports evaluations and similar narrative pieces.

  • Ability to read comprehend and analyze number goals as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.

  • Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.

  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
