About the opportunity:
This exciting role leads a Capital Campaign designed to raise $20M through private philanthropy and support our goal to increase the affordable and supported accommodation available for women and families escaping family violence.
The Campaign Director reports to the Chief Officer Partnerships & Engagement and works closely with senior stakeholders including our Executive Team and Board members. The role provides both strategic and hands-on leadership for the campaign leading high-value donor engagement and prospecting refining our case for support and financial ask and developing and implementing a bespoke donor engagement strategy.

The role coordinates activity across the organisation to ensure alignment manages internal and external stakeholders and works with Committees to identify cultivate and secure lead and major gift contributions. You will have had success with previous capital campaigns and in securing major gifts and share our passion to see an end to homelessness here in Melbourne in the knowledge that housing changes lives.

This is a maximum-term parental leave cover role until March 2027. It is part-time (45.6 hours per fortnight) and based in Collingwood.

What youll be doing:

    • Leading the quiet phase of our comprehensive campaign designed to raise $20M through private philanthropy working closely with Board Directors CEO Executive Team and Group Managers.
    • Generate lead and major gift contributions to the campaign.
    • With the support of an external agency establishing and stewarding a campaign committee of voluntary leaders identifying new networks through existing relationships preparing prospect research and delivering immersion events and informing functions and developing and executing personalised engagement plans.
    • Putting into action the key recommendations from 2025s feasibility study and creating a compelling case for support for external parties.
    • Throughout the campaign stewarding all campaign donors guided by the approved Campaign Gift Recognition & Stewardship Policy and fostering strong relationships with current and prospective donors and voluntary leaders through tailored authentic stewardship and communication ensuring the right ask is made by the right people to the right person at the right time.
    • Ensure timely gift processing and acknowledgement and maintain accurate supporter information in our CRM platform.
    • Manages prospect research on all qualified prospective campaign donors and supports the Campaign Chair and Committee in identifying new prospective donors setting appointments with prospective lead and major gift donors and coordinating the donation solicitation process
    • Liaising closely with any Government Engagement activities as we seek to unlock government match funding.
    • In close collaboration with Marketing and Fundraising Team explore the opportunity of a campaign Public Phase ensuring close alignment with fundraising marketing and other core goals.

What were looking for (key selection criteria):

    • Relevant Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree in nonprofit management business or a related field is highly desirable.
    • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in fundraising.
    • Proven success securing major gifts ($50000) and leading large-scale fundraising initiatives working closely with high-net-worth individuals.
    • Extensive experience working with a broad range of internal and external senior stakeholders.
    • Extensive experience working with program delivery teams.
    • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills combined with excellent project management abilities.
    • Proficiency with donor databases .
    • Ideally a deep understanding of the housing and homelessness sector with the ability to inspire engage and motivate supporters to the mission to end homelessness.
    • Understanding of or a demonstrated commitment to upholding Child Safe Standards in the workplace.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.
$130000 - $170000 a year

Salary is full-time equivalent and will be pro-rated to hours worked.
