This temporary position is with NC DPS - Governors Crime Commission located at 1201 Front Street Raleigh NC 27609 Wake County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

The Dept of Public Safety - Governors Crime Commission is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Edward Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Criminal Justice with collection and maintenance of data through regular contact with subrecipients. The selected candidate for this role will:
Create graphic publications and coordinate data collection from agencies.
Assist with Data Advisory Group meetings
Work to create a data landscape for criminal justice and establish justice data for counties and agencies
Assimilate and organize both printed and electronic information
Apply knowledge of data collection storage organization manipulation to identify and understand issues problems and opportunities
Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action as well as explain and interpret information to clients/customers and staff
effectively use correct grammar organization and written and oral form with the ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience
Process and review data for compliance and provide resources and technical assistance to subrecipient agencies
Plan attend regular calls meetings workshops and conferences with state and federal partners to remain informed on Criminal Justice and SCIP related issues
Maintain expertise in Criminal Justice and other relevant federal guidelines state statutes and case law affecting federal grant programs

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
